Elevate Your Photos with Glamorous Dresses; Tips for Packing for a Month in Europe Summer

Tip 1: Elevate Your Photos with Glamorous Dresses

To capture stunning photos, I recommend packing more dresses than shorts and t-shirts. Go for dressier and more elegant outfits than what you’d wear back home in the summer. Dresses have a glamorous effect and take up less space in your bag. Choose comfortable dresses in different colors that contrast with the landscapes you’ll be visiting. Strong colors like black and vibrant colors always stand out in photos, but keep in mind that they can be hotter to wear than lighter-colored garments during the European summer.

Tip 2: Pack comfortable and breathable clothing

You won’t fully enjoy your vacation if you’re walking around in heels on Europe’s cobblestone streets. Opt for comfortable sneakers or sandals and outfits made of linen, cotton, or other lightweight fabrics. Stay cool and comfortable while exploring your destination. Your feet will thank you!

Tip 3: Travel light (and cheap!)

When we planned our month trip to multiple destinations in Europe, we made a conscious decision not to check in any luggage. Instead, we opted for carry-on bags and backpacks. Now, this had its pros and cons:

Pro’s
  1. When traveling with just a carry-on bag and a personal item, we didn’t have to arrive at the airport super early. We could go straight to the boarding gate, saving us time and hassle.
  2. Traveling light made it easier to get around from city to city, especially considering all those cobblestone streets in Europe. Plus, it was a relief since many hotels don’t have elevators.
  3. We saved a ton of money by not checking in any luggage. Low-cost airlines only allow a personal item for free, so we avoided those extra fees for carry-on bags and the even heftier charges for checked luggage.
Con’s
  1. Keep in mind that you might need to get creative with your outfits or find a way to do some laundry during the trip. But hey, it’s all part of the adventure, right?
  2. Unfortunately, traveling light means you won’t be able to bring back loads of gifts for your loved ones (or spoil yourself too much). But hey, the memories and experiences are the best souvenirs anyway!

Note: We used the app “Packpoint” that recommends how many shirts, dresses, pants, and shoes to pack based on the climate, the activities you plan to do and the length of your stay. It generates a checklist that you can fill in as you pack.

Tip 4: Pack your clothes like a Mexican Burrito

This is the way if you need to pack for a month in Europe and you want to be able to carry all the things you need, you’ll save space and make the most of your suitcase. Plus, when you unroll them at your destination, they’ll be less wrinkled and ready to wear. We’ve even included a photo example to show you how to master the art of the clothing burrito. So, get your packing skills and appetite ready for a fiesta of efficient packing!

Tip 5: Plan your city-to-city transfers in the mornings

Not only is it safer to arrive to the next destination during the day, but you’ll also avoid the hassle of figuring out what to do with your luggage after hotel checkout. However, if you need to travel in the afternoon, you can arrange to leave your luggage with the hotel or try using fantastic apps like Bounce, which offer convenient storage options for a small fee. It’s available in all major European cities and has numerous storage points in each city. We personally used it in Barcelona, and it truly saved the day (and our backs too!).

I hope these tips come in handy when packing for a month for your Europe summer trip. Happy travels, and may your luggage be light and hassle-free!
